Welcome to the Mankind Project of St. Louis community page! The Mankind Project of St. Louis is a committed, diverse and vital community empowering men and women to live in integrity, authenticity and service. We are creating a world of love, healing and growing consciousness.

We empower men and women to live to their full potential, trusting that they will co-create the healthy solutions needed by society. We also foster Loving Families, Strong Communities, and Productive Workplaces in a sustainable environment.

For most of us growing up the human family as we’ve known it has been a large dysfunctional family! Where can men, of any race, creed, or religion go to share their  emotions, feelings, anger, sadness, happiness, etc.? The Mankind Project of St. Louis is an answer to this and many other charged questions that we as men have.

Within the Mankind Project many of have searched for a society where we can not only get support for ourselves, but also where we can support other men in their journey to confront destructive “shadow” form and has achieve hard-won ownership of a highly focused, aggressive energy that empowers and shapes the inner masculine self – a type of energy new to many men…a New Warrior energy that is at once tough and loving, wild and gentle, fierce and tolerant and allows a man to live passionately and compassionately, because he has learned to live his mission with integrity, and without apology.

In the early 1990’s, the men on the St. Louis Men’s Council were meeting in Lou’s attic. During this time, one of the men decided to go to a training weekend called the New Warrior weekend. From there, these men, one at a time, completed the Warrior training and began to build the New Warrior Community in St. Louis.

As the community grew, these men rented a house in Maplewood, Missouri so they would have a place to meet and do their “men’s work”. Sometimes that work involved yelling and screaming for anger work. There was also celebratory drumming. Needless to say, the neighbors wondered what all the commotion was, so they now meet at the Warrior lodge, which is leased in an industrial office complex in Olivette, Missouri.

With mentoring from the Indiana community, these men worked to have their first New Warrior Training Adventure at Camp Butterfly in 1997, and then went on to become a full center in 1998. Since then, nearly 600 men have attended these NWTA’s  at Camp Butterfly.  As the St. Louis community has matured over the years, the focus has become more on introducing men to the work, rather than inviting them to the New Warrior Training Adventure itself. Eventually men may decide it is the right time for them to experience the challenge and exhilaration of a New Warrior Training Adventure weekend, find their true mission in life and gain support in living their life with more integrity and accountability.

There are more than 578 New Warriors in the St. Louis Community. New Warriors are men that have been initiated through attending a New Warrior Adventure Training Weekend. The weekend programs are held in St. Louis as well as throughout the United States and Internationally.

If you are ready to take on the challenge and tremendous opportunity our community offers you to do deep, serious, and transformational work on your life, you may want to request more information here. We also have plenty of opportunities for you to sample the type of work we do.
